I want to say a couple of things about the election.
1. Anti-Genocide Protesters
Remember Obama? Remember how the immigration activists went after Obama instead of the Republicans (who are worse on immigration issues)? There's a reason they did that. They knew that Republicans could not be changed, so they went after the candidate they thought could be pushed into a different position. That's just how democracy works. Get over it.

What point are you trying to make about hostages?
Oh, wait. Are you saying that genocide is acceptable if someone takes hostages?
Because Israel has a lot of innocent people in their prisons. If having hostages justifies genocide, then why are you complaining about anything the Palestinians are doing, which is demonstrably less bad than genocide?

@tofugolem I have no doubt that were Trump currently president there would be less news out of Gaza and more death, there and in the west bank.
But when UN observers and other international witness organizations are documenting war crimes against civilians and mass graves where doctors and patients were restrained and murdered and the US acknowledges the evidence but does not stop supporting the perpetrators...
it's very hard to be rational and calculating about how much genocide we can bear.

@tofugolem Yeah. I hope that Candidate Harris displays courage and leadership and gets Biden to cut off the flow of weaponry to Israel before the election.
But I am not holding my breath.
I just want the US and Israel to live up to their treaty commitments from 1948.

This isn't going to be easy.
The ship of state turns very slowly. There are elements of the government wedded to the imperialist strategy in Palestine, and changing course will take a lot of time and effort.
We should be thankful for this. Trump would have done a lot more damage if not for this.
Also, it's possible that if we stop the military aid, the Israeli government might legitimately collapse. While I'm OK with that, this could lead to more people digging their heels in.
