@thomasfuchs Do not agree. Lot of AI generated illustration are easy to made and not just functional but eye catching as well. Better than having nothing.
@thomasfuchs It's not always like that. Sometimes ppl want to express themselves but are incapable of doing so via traditional art so they do what in their minds is the next best thing
@thomasfuchs@chris__martin maybe some people know how to write, but they don’t know how to draw, nor they have the resources to buy stock photos since it’s a free blog and they are already using their time to write an article which is free for readers?
@dwineman@andreagrandi@thomasfuchs Really I suspect we're in the minority here anyway. Most of your audience will perceive the presence of any sort of graphic as a quality signal, some will perceive the opposite.
@dwineman@thomasfuchs@chris__martin and do you all realise how toxic and insulting is, telling people who spend their spare time to write blog posts for free what to do or not to do, telling them they insult their readers and judging their tastes?
In my life I did learn 1) not to judge a book by its cover (literally the "cover image" in this case) and 2) not to tell people what to do in their personal (web) space.
Some of the people judging don't even have a blog themselves 🙄
@andreagrandi@thomasfuchs@chris__martin I owe no one gratitude for writing for free, nor does it change how I judge credibility. Use of generated images does. It says you don’t have the taste to see how garish and offputting those images are, or you think I don’t. If your grammar is terrible or you use a racial slur, I’ll also close the tab.
Do what you want in your web space. I don’t have to read it. If that matters to you, make better choices.
@thomasfuchs@andreagrandi@chris__martin If nothing else it very strongly communicates “I have no taste.” Far worse for credibility than not using an image at all.
