Happy to see that my translations for #activitypub#WordPress plugin have been approved and I'm now trying to cover the readme file, in order to have plugin description translated as well. My 2 cents to help people discover #fediverse - I can't deny I sometimes feel discouraged, having just a couple followers on blog's profile but patience rewards me, I can't be in a rush.
@talksina@NickBohle@docpop@_elena I will block some time tomorrow to write a small explenation about what the "WordPress Post Formats" setting is doing and why I think that it has the biggest potential. It is still not perfect, but with lots of feedback it can might be the best way to go without all the templating overhead.
Format is based on WP Post Formats like image or quote. To make this work:
- Post formats must be enabled (via a theme or a plugin (e.g. by default not enabled in TT4). - And a post format like quote or aside must then be selected for the post before you publish.
@NickBohle@docpop@_elena@pfefferle I wonder what happens if I write a paragraph or two, and then put a "more" Gutenberg block, to separate introduction and article. If ActivityPub gets the presentation and then links to the article
@docpop I do my best for #activitypub - what is missing IMHO is detailed documentation. For example the difference between "note" and #WordPress format, if it's possible to write a post mentioning a fediverse account so that they get notified... @_elena managed to do everything of this, I didn't... @pfefferle suggested me to change setting from "note" to "wp format" and it did not give me results I expected...
Highly appreciated. Stupid question, but does your plugin enables post formats if not already enabled by theme or plugin (they have always been enabled on my site so I can‘t tell)?
To be precise, PostFormats have not been enabled in a default theme since #twentyseventeen .
