     @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @ArdainianRight @synapsid @GoodBoyUV @jeffcliff with the small difference that the russian government doesn't force anyone on the frontlines, i had several buddies serve the draft as you normally would and not a single one of them was on the frontline, it's either voluntary or punishment for fuckups

     @GoodBoyUV @ArdainianRight @synapsid @jeffcliff The same reason Ukrainians do it - they have a government that forces them into the military.
     
     There's a lot of people - both Russians and Ukrainians - dodging the draft in other countries. It's hard to say that the opinion of the general public matches the opinion of the government, and this is on both sides.
