     @paul @noondlyt @DemocracySpot It's much stranger, unfortunately. The first works for me, and the second does not. I am also on 4.2.10...🤦♂️

     @paul @DemocracySpot Do you think it is mastodon.social? Dan and I noticed that other media is getting much more compressed this week. It feels like something is going on with .social that wasn't before.

     I see your screengrab and you saw mine. We both are getting it differently.

     Both social and mstdn is running 4.3.0 nightly so if this is something new in the upcoming release, I don't like it. It could be a bug they will fix.

     I am running Mastodon 4.2.10 so, time will tell.

     Verdict, both works.

     It probably depends on the backlog and issues a particular Mastodon instance is having in its backend, copyright of the video on Youtubes end, etc.

     Posts using the URL shorterner "Youtu.be" will display the generic drivel. Use the full URL which will automatically shortened by the app.

     Edit: That was the word this AM via @FediTips. Confirmed what I'd observed. But there's a clip on my TL atm with full URL *and generic drivel. 🤷♂️
