     @rscottjones I picked up a number of good potential reads from your list! The one about News is one. I am leaning towards banishing most clickbaity news from my feeds as well. There's also another great book I will cite in this challenge:

     @liztai @rscottjones that's a GREAT book (I wonder if I picked it up because of you? It was definitely someone here in the fediverse who had posted about it)

     And yes I've also pretty much stopped consuming "news". It's been excellent. But I still have no problem finding out about things that actually affect me.

     Yeah, while I am very excited by the recent USPol developments (whew!) I have definitely found myself dragged back in and was reading mastodon like Twitter inn the old days. So I've unfollowed some folks who were just political news, adjusted my notifications and filters, and deleted the news apps off my phone that I had re-installed...

     It's much better now.
