Zelensky has now confirmed that F-16 is flying in #Ukraine. I think we should see this as an indication that Ukraine does not expect wild and spectacular consequences in the short term. @AndersGottlieb I don’t think so. Russia has never adapted to anything preemptively. They will wait until they have experienced totally avoidable losses a few times before thinking about a new plan.
An excellent analysis Anders. Shows that #Ukraine feels Russia is incapable of hurting the #F16s they have and the moral boost is more valuable than what they are going to do in the short-term.
Ukraine fights smart so I think the first missions are going to be solidly the ‘deter’ phase of air superiority. They are going hunting radar.
