     And when people point out that it's wrong, sometimes it'll also add more visibility and views of people resharing it to laugh at it, that it may have even gotten more visibility for being wrong than being accurate.

     @disarray 1 million users? https://the-federation.info/mastodon says it's 5,264,842 mastodon users (on all instances). and elsewhere it way said we hit 6 million. it's not that easy to count in a federated network

     maybe they mean the default instance the mastodon project hosts

     journalists just don't understand it and share their wrong perspective

     probably not mentioning the fediverse

     @disarray@pl.nulled.red I mean technically speaking I am also the CEO of Jiyu Software. And technically speaking you're also the CEO of Nulled.
     
     But owners of small companies tend to usually not call themselves that because it makes it sound a lot more than it really is.
     
     Yes, you are at the top, but also are you really the "chief" of anything if there's nobody below you?
