     a not-insignificant number of these people, especially ones over 40, have lost marriages/children/lifelong friends because they can't stop obsessing over the configuration of strangers genitals and scary brown people at family gatherings/the grocery store/any time anyone lets them talk for more than 10 minutes, and that is indeed Weird behavior.

     @sun to me its just as weird and just as unacceptable (I am not in favor of anything people do in California in any way) to turn a conversation about the weather into a conversation about how the weather was better before trans jews invented the weather controlling machine to make it rain on election day so trump voters wouldnt come to the polls

     @sun it's not just strangers genitals, the really dogmatic and loyal ones are weird about everything. they're impossible to talk to or be around unless you agree with them or pretend to agree with them. They are incapable of holding interesting conversation. It's brown people, it's jews, it's christians who arent the same kind they are, it's a constant stream of weird. talk about the NFL like a normal person.

     @sun @vriska the primary drivers of trump 1 were disaffected out-ringers who thought a non-politician would make the difference, joined with berners who were hate voting to punish the DNC for disenfranchising them (then hilariously crowing about popular votes, when hillary herself couldn't even win an internal popular vote and had to rig the game with superdelegates)
     
     the driver of biden 1 was ballot stuffing combined with people believing a lot of CIA disinformation (like the "very fine people" stunt, which is immediately disproven by scrolling back ten words where he literally disavowed white supremacy)
     
     i don't really know whats going on currently. the trump energy is long gone. the room has a really big "kill me now please" energy to it.

     @icedquinn @vriska I think most people will just go along with whomever the candidate is and the other candidates going against trump ended up losing because when it's time for a change the same old thing doesn't work anymore. it is so bad that a lot of people are willing to give trump a second chance. I think that's an indictment of the time we're in more than the party.
     
     I don't want to say nobody's enthusiastic about trump. there are a ton of really stupid people enthusiastic about trump

     @sun there was a time, at least around where I grew up, not in the distant past, where people on the streets who spewed extreme politics at you (right or left) were ignored until they stopped.
