     @icedquinn @purple @anonicus I actually emailed Rick Brewster about it once and got back that he was sick and tired of people plagiarizing it and making third party installers full of malware on download sites (remember, Windows so this stuff does actually routinely happen)

     Not being like Photoshop's UI doesn't count as being "user unfriendly". That really is just a skill issue. You need to give something specific that is a problem with GIMP itself.

     @wan @SuperSnekFriend @anonicus GIMP is unbelievable trash, it was understandable in the 90s but lost its reason to exist a long, long time ago. Plus it's responsible (indirectly) for GTK and GNOME, thus one of the contributing factors that deprived us the potential 90s-00s future of GNUStep on the desktop.

     @SuperSnekFriend @wan @anonicus Use older versions of Photoshop, different tools entirely (like Affinity), or in extreme cases roll their own. While I continue to have a soft spot for older Photoshop (7-CS2 era), I'm keeping an intent eye on any up and coming projects in the FOSS space which show potential to unseat the virtual monopoly GIMP has currently.
