Anyway, white people, I know it's hard when you want to help but feel helpless, but DO NOT DO THIS. Do not make your feelings of helplessness about white supremacy into the problem of whatever BIPOC has alerted you to the issue.

We banned that person because she was claiming to be the best trans ally ever because of some IRL work she did while also saying trans women are culpable in reinforcing the gender binary. Looks like she's pretty bad all around lol

@SallyStrange that said i stopped following this person a while ago because they were being antisemitic as a way to feel tough about gaza, and when multiple accts pointed out the antisemitism was counterproductive, they just doubled down

@SallyStrange aside from personality conflicts with this individual, it's an ethos worth talking about. i'm guessing a lot of us experience some form of "i want to be a helper!" that actually serves to obscure or perpetuate the problems we want to help with. trying to be humble and listen to what folks are saying and be willign to sit with the discomfort or confusion and keep learning is a real challenge for many of us

@majorlinux yeah I get that. Some of these folks are quite lost and do need some help from SOMEONE so I think it's good to have folks willing to work with them. As long as I don't have to do it lmao
