like back in the day we kept ledgers and just came by once or twice a year to balance all the books out when the trade ship was in port? -

waltercool (waltercool@pl.slash.cl)'s status on Monday, 29-Jul-2024 23:03:56 JST waltercool @mk I'm still on huge disagreement with the lightning network, it's more like a workaround instead of a real fix.
Bitcoin is too unpractical as a coin, and most people use that as virtual gold. -

But agreed that Monero is far better than most cryptocurrencies. And the reason why it's the most unlikely crypto to get regulated by any government. -

the lightning network daemon (and many other non-custodial wallets) can make onchain AND offchain transactions.
"Bitcoin Cash" is a shitcoin. please don't bring this garbage up in here.

waltercool (waltercool@pl.slash.cl)'s status on Tuesday, 30-Jul-2024 01:11:40 JST waltercool @mk @icedquinn Lightning is a network over the network. Always online.
Supporters of the Bitcoin Lightning protocol say you should have one wallet for quick transactions (lightning wallet) and a savings account (bitcoin wallet), but that seems like a bad idea because now I need to trust two different platforms from two different teams and assuming they will agree on everything.
I still think the Bitcoin Cash protocol actually improved the fee problem from Bitcoin (still not a solution). In conversation permalink -

mk (mk@noauthority.social)'s status on Tuesday, 30-Jul-2024 01:11:41 JST mk yeah kinda.
but you can balance the book at anytime by broadcasting a closing transaction (closes the payment channel / multisig wallet) publicly to the bitcoin blockchain.
