ㅤ (eidolon@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Saturday, 27-Jul-2024 21:02:14 JST ㅤ @mint @VD15 @FrailLeaf Idk if true but my dentist told me that wisdom teeth are atavistic in the sense that our teeth used to fall out over time from decay, and wisdom teeth would come up to replace them. They get impacted now because dental hygiene and tooth care means teeth arent being removed like they used to be. likes this.Pleroma-tan repeated this. -

Same way the toothpaste with solid granules in it it does. You put your moistened toothbrush in it, some of the powder sticks to it and you brush your teeth same as you usually do.
It's a bit old-fashioned, but it's quite nice. likes this. -

ㅤ (eidolon@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Saturday, 27-Jul-2024 21:16:58 JST ㅤ @mint @VD15 @FrailLeaf According to (((wikipedia))) the reason is different, and comes down modern diet.
"Anthropologists believe wisdom teeth, or the third set of molars, serve to help chew food in the adult, in humans and in apes and monkeys, who all have wisdom teeth too,[12] in their diet of harder to chew food – like fresh fruit, leaves, roots, nuts and meats.[25][26] After the advent of agriculture over 10,000 years ago, and especially with the industrial revolution in recent centuries, soft human diets became more common, including the use of tools (cutting the food) and cooking to make food easier to chew. Such diets typically result in jaws growing less in certain parts than those of paleolithic humans and not enough room for the wisdom teeth.[27]" likes this.✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: repeated this. -
