    ☹️ #Republicans play chess ♟️, #Democrats play checkers.

👉🏾 Report: #Manchin considering presidential bid after #Biden ends campaign https://wchstv.com/news/local/report-manchin-considering-presidential-bid-after-biden-ends-campaign

#JoeManchin is supported by many #GOP donors who probably encourage him to run against #KamalaHarris.

Manchin does not need to win—he just needs to force a contested convention, which will result in #DonaldTrump becoming @potus again.

@textualdeviance He says he might re-join (which should be prevented if true).

Manchin can't force the DNC to hold a contested convention. He doesn't lead it, Biden does.

Doubtful there will be a contested convention because most of the people floated to be competitors for the nomination have already endorsed Harris as the Democratic candidate for POTUS.

      Manchin's FoS.

SMH A contested Democratic convention DOES NOT guarantee a victory for the Republicans --or in this case, the Fascist Trump/Vance ticket.

Stop posting RW libertarian fan fiction.

@beccanalia @potus It’s called reading history. Every party that has held a contested convention has lost to one that did not. This has been true since 1900, and the Democratic Party has held three of them (and lost all three general elections as a result).

In this instance, the Republican Party doesn't play chess. Neither does Joe Manchin, corrupt former Democratic Senator, now corrupt "Independent," still accepting bribes from corporations and plutocrats.

Manchin will not succeed. He's deeply corrupt. He's no longer a Democrat. He's associated now, with Trump and the Fascists. The only electors he'd get are Fake Electors.

      You have no facts.

The brokered convention is 193 years old having begun in 1831 and stopped in 1968.

In those 193 years, each party has won the WH and each party has lost the WH based on who their candidate was.

Democrat FDR won the nomination during a brokered convention in 1932 and won the WH in 1932 and THREE MORE TIMES thereafter.

Democrat John F Kennedy won the nomination during a brokered election in 1960 and went on to win the WH.

      Read more, perhaps?

@beccanalia You should pay attention to my words. A “contested” convention means all delegates are free to vote for whoever they please, & is a possibility if a nominee is not picked in the first round.

If that happens, the Democrats would lose in the general election, as they have done before. Fortunately Kamala Harris realizes this, & is trying (with success) to win over enough delegates to avoid this scenario.

@beccanalia Also there is a difference between a “brokered” convention & a “contested” convention, the latter which I am referring to. If you do not understand, here is a link to enlighten you: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/27/us/politics/brokered-democratic-convention.html
