   A dude was murdered around the corner from my flat on Friday.

   6th Street has been neglected ever since i moved here. Street people have been pushed here by crackdowns elsewhere, and then the city hasn't provided anywhere near the services needed.

     @kingrat I work a few blocks away south of there, and while there's a homeless shelter on 5th & Bryant, it seems like it's underutilized/understaffed.

     @joy there's at least 3 transitional housing places within 100 feet. a few SROs too, and 4 or 5 places that provide various services. all very understaffed. and there's precious few people on the street itself providing services. for instance, the contract for Urban Alchemy only stations their people to the corner of 6th and Stephenson.
