   My smart lock failed and I’m locked out of my house 🤝 This form button doesn’t submit

   The company went out of business and now this {smart device 🤝 JavaScript framework} isn’t receiving updates and poses a security risk

     @zachleat Yeaaah. Like… I love home automation when it's like, ‘turn my xmas lights on and off for me," because the failure state is… I have to turn on my xmas lights manually. Not “I am stuck outside my own door in the cold and I can't reach tech support as the sun goes down and the ice weasels come”

     @RealGene @zachleat I think that’s hos point — there are radically different ways to approach it, and those approaches matter in stress cases!

     Um, Home Assistant's entire reason for being is decentralized, local control.

     As long as my LAN/WLAN works, so does the majority of my automation.

     No WAN/cloud required.
