I am glad #JoeBiden is ignoring them. It would be insane to change the nominee this late in the game.
The election is 4 months away. It would be wiser to let Biden remain on the ticket, as you risk being omitted by states due to filing rules.

Yes, in America, people vote for individuals, although they make it convenient nowadays to select everyone in a party (every state has its own voting machines and rules, and they can differ depending on the state).

@schnedan It used to be even crazier, as counties within each state had different voting machines (20 years ago). The Supreme Court mandated that every state have a uniform standard so the voting process is the same state-wide.
But remember, this is the “United” “States” as the states retain some sovereignty within the country.

@darnell isn't that insane? Of course in Germany each federal state has its own rules for elections to... except nation wide elections - or EU elections. These are governed by nation wide laws. So it does not matter where you are or vote...
How one can vote for an US President with different laws. This makes no sense other than "legal" fraud.

@darnell Let's say Biden withdrawals and endorses Harris. Soon thereafter Jeffries, Pelosi, Schumer, et. al. give their support to Harris as well. Would that be insanity? I bet the vast majority of Democrats would get behind Harris. An articulate spokesperson for the party is invaluable. Right now Biden and his numerous age-related gaffs and frailty are a huge distraction to getting out the strong Democratic message.

That would be disastrous, as every party that held an open convention this late in the game lost to the party that did not as Americans would view an open (aka contested) convention as a sign of weakness & incompetence.
