     only way it could be better is real-time traffic data
     
     
     (depends on the country though. it’s fantastic in germany and japan but terrible in latvia)

     @maxmustermann @teto @mia I haven’t used OSM for a while tbh because several years ago I was really excited about it and for a week I mapped the area around my house in a ton of detail. Then for some reason someone was able to revert all of it and I’d wasted all that time.

     @sun @maxmustermann things looked pretty good with OSM where i’ve been anyway. very detailed (individual trees, benches and trash cans, hidden trails, even farm lanes, buildings with metadata like number of stories etc.)… nothing outdated either. lots of stuff that wasn’t on gmaps or apple maps

     @sun @maxmustermann in some regions of japan you can actually run into problems because it’ll show buildings and street sections that aren’t even constructed yet because they’re in official datasets 🥴
