Looks like I'm going to have to open up my #pebble watch finally - managed to drop it on a hard floor yesterday, and it's really not happy ⌚ 😦

scribe (scribe@mastodon.sdf.org)'s status on Friday, 19-Jul-2024 16:25:33 JST scribe The poor little #pebble watch had a bit of a time after having its innards opened up yesterday. The battery problem seems better, but its buzz has gone 🫤 I'll have to get back in there later, but time for a bit of a rest first.

scribe (scribe@mastodon.sdf.org)'s status on Friday, 19-Jul-2024 22:27:17 JST scribe OK, got the #pebble's buzz mojo back.
One last thing. Any recommendations for adhesive to stick a plastic case back together strongly, but so that I can still open up the watch again if needed?

sortius (sortius@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 19-Jul-2024 22:47:06 JST sortius @scribe to reopen it? Tough call. Some sort of epoxy gasket sealant might work. Then again, it might be too thick to work with.
I'd just go with CA + accelerant and ride that watch into the sunset (well, until it dies completely) 😆

Bob Beaker (bbeaker@toot.community)'s status on Saturday, 20-Jul-2024 00:23:08 JST Bob Beaker @scribe I've used silicon sealant for non load bearing bonds that might need to be broken in the future.
But check how it reacts with your plastic (and your skin) first.
YMMV

Jacob Scharmberg (jacobscharmberg@mastodon.online)'s status on Monday, 22-Jul-2024 20:46:48 JST Jacob Scharmberg @scribe I've never heard of B7000 but from what I just looked up quickly it sounds very similar, yes. It apparently is also commonly used for phone repair.
Yes it comes apart again. It forms kind of like a rubber when cured that can be peeled away again, with some heat if necessary. -
