     @blairgillam instead of boosting, you could write your own post explaining and then paste the link in the post.

     It's not as easy as just attaching a CW, but if you really want to share something, it does the job, I think.

     @blairgillam well, I mean instead of re-uploading the image and "re-creating" the post, just copy the link and paste the link to the post in a new post that you make.

     Easier than downloading and re-uploading the image, and you can add CW, context, your own comment, etc.

     @BeAware 💯 That's very fair and I have done that a few times.

     sometimes there are screenshots attached to posts that I *really* want to boost. the more steps required for me to right click and download the image, then write a new post, attach the image and then copy the image's alt text (if there is alt text)... oof.

     @blairgillam ah! I thought you were trying to say that it was a bit too difficult. Which I do think it should be easier.

     Mastodon Devs aren't the best at thinking about these sort of things.

     Hell, they barely have moderation tools beyond "if you see something you don't like, you can remove it". However, if you own the server and don't want to be held responsible for any nonsense that some random might post at any point, you're pretty screwed unless you have eyes on everything your server ingests, 24 hours a day.🤦♂️

     Sorry, venting unrelated frustrations. Lol.
