@BeAware I much rather Mastodon push forward on these changes. At the same time, advocating for these changes to be adopted part of AP. The problem with protocol standards like AP is getting a large number of stakeholders to all agree on something which takes a long time.

@BeAware stakeholders meaning those who are directly invested or involved in evolving the AP standard. So anyone who is actively participating in the W3C social web community group. As well as any outside participants who want to help contribute (such as the Mastodon core team)

@BeAware My take is to just let a thousand a flowers bloom and progress towards adopting what works. If the WC3 social web community has ideas that are better and can move on them in a timely manner, so be it. I'm sure the Mastodon team is more than happy to discuss and adopt

@BeAware if others making a fediverse app built on AP want to advocate, they can do so. PeerTube, PixelFed, etc make use of AP. They can decide to push forward ideas through the WC3 social web community if they like
