    what might be the best way to reply to a federated post, using #WordPress ?

    For @-replies it is easy and we have a common sense on that, but what about URLs?

    I thought about to simply ping every URL that is mentioned in a post, but that could cause a lot of distraction and might feel spammy!

      @pfefferle What about having a non-ping tab (so no push notifications) for mentions of the blog #Fediverse handle, & not just the author's handle within the blog‽

      That way, you can see who mentions your #WordPress blog without a zillion push notifications or email alerts.

      @darnell I meant the other way around! How could a UI look like to write a blog post in reply to a Note or Article in the fediverse.

      @mro the question was more about how a UI might look like!?!

      Hi @pfefferle, if the post features a <link rel="replies"> or an according Link response http header, that should give some clues. Otherwise ask webfinger?resource=https://example.com/blog/posts/23/ and check there.

      IMO that's legit <link rel> use - may not be widely implemented (yet).

      What do you think?

      @pfefferle Oh! Hmmm…three suggestions:

      ☝🏾 The #WordPress blogger has to include the #Fediverse handle in the title (which shows intent but can be messy).

      ✌️🏾 Word “Reply” next to userhandle & link to post.

      🤟🏾 Assigned category in blog triggers #ActivityPub reply. It would also require a user handle mention plus a link to the post.

      I think the third option would be the best, as it would show intent & would appear less messy on the blog.

      @darnell but what if a post has more than one link that supports replies?!? how to find out the correct link?

      @pfefferle I guess option ✌️🏾 would be needed then.

      A trigger word (like “Reply”) next to the user handle & link might be the best option.

      @darnell but is this something a user understands? I would love to have a "don't make me think" UI, like with @-replies.

      @pfefferle Hmmm…then simply using the @-reply with the link might work. That would be the simplest method. However, in order to prevent mass spam replies, I would just limit it to the first link.
