    I'm getting closer to being able to name all 58 California counties from memory.

      My last 5 tries I can get 57/58. But the country I can't remember keeps changing. Tehama, Merced, Amador, Colusa ...

      Can reliably name all 58 counties now. Ask me in a couple of months if I have retained this knowledge tho....

      As a side note, I have a borrower's card for libraries in 9 of the 58 counties.

      @kingrat nice!

      Colusa was one I got the first time because there’s a small one-block street in the Hub called Colusa Court, plus it was the name of Jerry Brown’s dog. https://archive.gov.ca.gov/archive/gov39/first-dogs/index.html

      @scott I *should* have had Colusa from the start, as I have a distant relative in my family tree that I've researched who lived in Colusa county.

      @kingrat how many non-county library systems (like Oakland and Berkeley)?

      @kingrat Nice. Any surprise values in there? I was surprised to find Berkeley provides online Oxford English Dictionary access but SFPL does not (at least it doesn’t show up under OED’s “Access with library card” choices)

      @frappe SFPL has JSTOR and RosettaStone. Alameda County library has NewspaperArchive, though it looks like SFPL has added it since I last checked. A few libraries have very limited sets of newspapers at NewspaperArchive, but Alameda has a pretty expansive set.

      @frappe Santa Clara, Solano, Palo Alto, LA County, and LAPL all have Freegal, which allows downloading of 3-5 MP3s (depending on the library) per week.
