@barney@mas.to Eh? As another Fedi admin, even as illegal as media piracy is, I personally would not be too concerned with it. The companies behind the movies, games, shows, and books we enjoy take away many of our rights as consumers. Most importantly, it stunts media preservation, in which we lose valuable creations solely because we cannot access it again after an online service shuts down. So, I find it hard to feel sorry when companies in turn are screwed over by us not supporting them for their work.
I've quoted a short-but-sweet post from someone else summarizing why people like us aren't concerned with piracy, but I've also included a more concise video explaining how dangerous restrictions to consumer rights (in that case, DRM) has been when accessing many video games from the 2000s. I hope you can understand that we really just want the best for people making creative works, but what companies are doing right now just is not it.

@radmin @barney
Again, copyright infringement is not piracy. Piracy is the violent theft of a vessel or its cargo on the high seas. Media companies like to refer to copyright infringement as piracy to make it sound worse than it is.
