@neko >Windows isnt bad once you remove all the dog shit I agree - although to remove all the dog shit you have to wipe the drive totally and install GNU.
The shit grows back like a tumour. The other day I switched my PC on and was greeted with an upgrade to Win 11 screen that covered my whole monitor, I shat bricks thinking they updated it without my permission. Turns out they just wanted to warn me that I won’t receive the update because my PC isn’t compatible.
@phnt I don't know what you linked to as I don't run arbitrary JavaScript on my computer.
Bloat can show quote posts, so if you can quote post it, I'll be able to see it.
microsoft does pretty regularly break lots of things via windows update, with incredibly delayed fixes and many broken things in windows have never been fixed.
@phnt >Google's Android Studio/JetBrains IntelliJ spyware on my main OS even if it's technically open-sauce. google's SDK is proprietary software and its license even says that.
If I was going to write Android software, I'd work out how to get it to compile with only a makefile and openjdk first.
@neko@Suiseiseki I have a Win10 LTSC partition ready for some occasional CAD work and Android/Windows development, because I'm not running Google's Android Studio/JetBrains IntelliJ spyware on my main OS even if it's technically open-sauce.
@KaiserKitty@neko@MMS21 >Windows 11 nukes all my windows 10 customization and ripped out some qol of life features. That the taskbar can't be moved to the top anymore is almost a deal breaker for me.
@MMS21@neko Windows 11 nukes all my windows 10 customization and ripped out some qol of life features. In terms of QoL some Linux DEs like KDE plasma and XFCE are the only ones which have all of the QoL life features I need while Windows and Mac both lack various different ones. At least Mac OSX is slowly adding some of these features while windows have stopped doing anything but copilot stuff.
