   I really hope the dip in Fedi activity isn't because people are going to Threads, hoping that their content will be fully federated and interactable eventually....😒

   It really feels like that's Meta's goal with this federation thing. Every new feature they announce has some sort of nuance that doesn't work like it should and they don't acknowledge them at all. I feel that if they get enough new users, eventually they'll just say "It doesn't seem like anyone is interested in Fediverse, so we're turning it off", so they're creating situations so that nobody CAN be interested in it....😑

     @wjmaggos The last sentence rings very true. It doesn't make business sense. That's why they haven't *really* made progress yet besides having their posts here...the recent replies feature is literally nonexistent to me because of its limitations that they refused to acknowledge.

     I wish I could share your optimism, but this far, they haven't given me any reason to. Not disclosing how a feature works, especially when it's not the norm for how the feature is supposed to work, isn't really trustworthy to me.🤷♂️

     I really hope you're right, though. I'm impatient as fuck with it because of how untrustworthy they are.

     we are too small for them to care about stealing our users. they might now have people from here spending most of their time there now (and never come back) but that couldn't be the goal. just a horrible side effect. pretending to be pursuing the open path might serve some other purpose tho. regulators, cool factor, IDK. they are making forward progress but it seems so slow and I still can't get my head around how full federation could ever make business sense for them.
