@ageha @meowski @sun I don't think the latter is possible. I heard from e.g. Helen ("Dr. Helen") Smith that Trump is extremely intelligent (although that applied to Trump before he was the president). I consider that a good authority. I suspect people may be fooled by his dubious personnel choices, but only because they forget shit like Harriet Meyers and Anita Dunn, chosen by other presidents. I know this is going to make me a putinbot, but Putin's ability to assign capable people to key positions makes him stand out among world leaders. But that is not a proof that he's smarter than Trump or Obama. He may have a longer decision horizon or feel more secure, and, well, have good eye for personnel. The downside is that he's just as gullible as Trump when "experts" say something. Remember that Fauci is fully Trump's fault.

@zaitcev @ageha @meowski I have noticed you can lack conventional intelligence and be very good at business. I guess it's just a different skill set.

but trump is horrible at business...

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev it's completely normal to lose a ton of money at the same time you're making a ton of money and become rich

@sun @ageha @meowski @zaitcev
but he only lost money?
if we ignore him being a criminal and the unethical way he does business, he started out with a lot of inherited cash and properties which he lost overtime when he didn't make someone else hold the bag - he even managed to lose money running casinos, and he liquidated a lot of profitable properties to build that silly skyscraper of his, among other silly ventures
if he'd just sat on that real estate empire he was handed he'd still be mega-wealthy, as it stands he's much less than that

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev I am not convinced by the claim that he'd have more money if he just kept running the properties he inherited. The only really devastating business decision he made was running for president.

the whole "the art of the deal" was just a lie made up by a ghostwriter that wanted to present him in the best possible light and just, guessed at what he was thinking, he's not a good businessman at all

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev as if you could become a good business man by reading a book of tips, that would be really surprising. There is a contradiction here. The book was a success so he's a successful businessman, but by grifting not real estate

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev he's not a good person, I don't think he is and never did.

@sun @ageha @meowski @zaitcev
no no, he's been bleeding money decade after decade
basically what he's done is not follow normal businessman logic but pathological narcissist logic where he's plowed money into making himself famous and putting his name on things
i get that you want to have a balanced and fair view of the man but he's straight up not right in the head, and he's never been, and that's not political propaganda but simply facts that his political opponents easily can use against him

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev I believe you would find that many politicians have pathological personalities, if psychoanalyzed. His is just really obvious. These people are everywhere, like inside a business where just just backstab and lie to coworkers to get ahead.

@sun @ageha @meowski @zaitcev
it's fine to be a grifter, at least in the USA i guess. but i claim he's not a grifter because he choses to be, like many politicians, but because he's a complete narcissist with a crippling lack of self-insight and it's just what he winds up doing automatically
this makes him bad for high-level political office, because you need self-distance and an accurate (but perhaps cynical) worldview for that, not a worldview warped by grandiosity

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev ultimately you have to find a non-conspiratorial explanation for his rise to president if you don't believe he's good at anything. at the very least he's good at selling himself.

Yeah the ghostwriter was a kike, it’s almost like Trump is only wealthy because he’s a jewish puppet that hates White people. But of course you don’t hate him for the right reasons because you’re a retarded midwit faggot just like conservatives.

i would argue that that indeed is his only skill because it's notably the only thing he actually invests brainpower into, and has done over his long life

@whiteline @ageha @meowski @zaitcev that's possible, I'm not super invested in claiming he's a genius business man I just don't think it's actually obvious he's completely incompetent

@sun @whiteline @ageha @meowski Didn't Paul Graham say that only 1 in 10 of the startup that he financed at YC succeed (to exit)? I may be mis-attributing this.
