@thomasfuchs Would be good to have some path to migrate away from XML (a terrible idea) altogether - pretty much sucks that all browsers can do is render HTML and run javascript, would it be awful if there was some lean mean stream?
@thomasfuchs
When I started seriously learning software dev independently, I couldn't understand why people used libraries so invasive they may as well have been their own languages. I refused to learn things like JQuery and C++ Boost because I just wanted to know the underlying syntax.
I feel I became a more rounded developer going that route, but it made it much harder to get a job. I eventually landed a job by showing pure LAMP knowledge, only to be bait n' switched to using Sharepoint
@thomasfuchs distractionware is a moat, and moats are just another tool in the strategic toolkit.
Javascript and kubernetes are roots of their respective distractionware trees.
It's the programmer version of consumerism as a hobby, like the catalogs of aftermarket crap for hot rodders and 4x4ers, so we're always wanting, always chasing, always spending time and money to make the unimportant, peripheral, and cosmetic changes to perfectly good but boring stuff that works fine.
@thomasfuchs I did not last long in that position lol. Thankfully I was able to switch to embedded dev in the same company. But man was that not what I was expecting.
@thomasfuchs
Sadly the abyss will take credit for the things you scream at it and then sell conference tickets about it
