   I can't believe Dungeon Meshi S1 is over already. I was literally confused like "Wait, this is the last episode?". They just ride in a tram all episode, doesn't feel like the ending of a story arc.

     Konosuba S3 is over as well. I felt that the whole wedding arc felt kinda forced from a plot point of view, but we got to see Darkness wear a really hot wedding dress so it was all worth it in the end. Bride Month is upon us.

     Honestly I don't think that's a bad thing at all as that is a good way to get you really invested into the world. A lot of isekai shows on the contrary just cram all that shit all into the first episode which I honestly think is not that engaging.

     Basically, the absolute worse part of the show is the attempt at calmy slice of life stuff, it's really, really boring then and you'd just wish it wouldn't. However something SIGNIFICANT happens at the second half of S2 and it's been great since

     @SuperDicq @lanodan It's the usual mild-mannered estrogeneous jap man going to a world of barbarity, kingdom building, and introducing the magic of hyper diverse liberal economics to backwards peasants.

     It's got a little more texture to the story than the usual 1-dimensional isekai, but it's not quite a story worthy of getting 3 seasons. There isn't much to chew on, he doesn't abuse his power, and you're just watching an office nerd show up and work his way up to becoming a divinity on some magic D&D world.

     If you're bored, it's better than slop, but not worth much more. If you read the wiki it helps show that there just ain't much in the way of highs and lows. Nobody dies, he's all powerful, people doubt him, he faces them, everything's happy, blah blah blah.

     @SuperDicq @lanodan Petite twintail dragon is cute, high energy, at least. He's got two oni women, one feminine and one yakuza boss type. Their evolutions make them more boring though.

     They do have some fanservice, there's an ep where they butt wrestle I think. It's just another show where there's sesame-street levels of sexual tension. Even the strip club is asexually chaste and weird, like it's a TVY7 show

     At least here if a show hasn't hooked me after 3~4 episodes, I tend to drop it, specially when it's airing.

     Which reminds me that sometimes I feel like the next seasons enjoy being *real* slow to resume the pace quite like if they believed the "3 episode rule" wouldn't also apply (I'd say it does but people are pre-warmed/hooked).

     @SuperDicq @coolboymew Which reminds me that the season 2 of Mahou Tsukai no Yome / Ancient Magus' Bride felt really weird to me, like "Come on how long do they need to set things up? They've been foreshadowing for a serious while now.", which makes me wonder if I wouldn't have dropped S2 without said foreshadowing, even though I love the story and the characters.

Especially when it comes to animation quality I don't think you can seriously look at something like Frieren or Mushoku Tensei and say "this looks bad".

     Like they are only "2 frames of animation per episode and the rest is panning stills" bad, they are "the animators can't even remember what the color of the main character's hair is so it changes every other scene" bad...
