   It's kinda wild that people STILL think Fedi has some sort of "protection" from their public posts being scraped/used by anyone for whatever they want.

   How would you even know? You can watch your instances federation like a hawk and go to each and every one of the 20,000+ instances, but let's be honest, that's not realistic...

     @tom but if you don't know, you can't request and they can't honor the request. Everyone should ALWAYS be in the mindset of them not knowing and to protect themselves, instead of assuming protection by the platform or something else.

     @BeAware I mean this is true for anything on the internet, once something is posted publicly you can't undo that.

     Doesn't mean someone isn't able to request their posts aren't used in certain ways. A bad actor won't acknowledge that request, so people should be aware that they have no genuine control, but at least in general people will respect their request for their data to be handled in specific ways.
