?? (tm@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 13-Jun-2024 11:45:22 JST ?? @jb @heytomjones wish Toyota made a diesel for the states. American manufacturers have a death grip on that market though. Plus emissions regulations guarantee the engine will live half as long. Vw tried to get around this but ended up paying for it -

heytomjones (heytomjones@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Thursday, 13-Jun-2024 11:45:25 JST heytomjones your son is blessed. Toyota made some beasts for sure.
professionally growing up around Hiluxes (or is it Hiluxi?) and other forms of technicals made me truly appreciate that Toyota engineering, and it's the main reason i ended up with an '08 Taco (6-speed manual, btw) after returning from one of my all-inclusive resort vacations in the 'Stan. i ended up putting 245k miles on it and had visions of going to 500k+...
BUT.
i stupidly - i mean fuggin dumbass move of mine - traded it in for a 2019 Tacoma because it was White and shiny and new. but it had that newer shittier engine they developed which is why i'm now driving said 2020 Tundra that my wife tells me is my last real truck until my next real truck. -

jb (jb@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Thursday, 13-Jun-2024 11:45:28 JST jb Toyota let the American division make too many decisions about the trucks
So the once mighty V8 Tundra is now a V6 turbo being made in Mexico where the quality control issues are rampant regardless of brand
Look at the result
For the first time in 25 years I can honestly say I would not buy a new Tundra
You guys that have the previous generations hold onto them for dear life
