   Hey, it's my suggestion this week for #TuneTuesday by @Kitty

   This is actually based on an @anon_opin post that suggested that you should search for #MusicToTestSpeakers if you're looking for interesting new music. (https://mastodon.social/@anon_opin/112566239413064790)

   While I low key suspect that this will result in you listening to most of King Crimson's back catalogue (it's a good idea, go! get started!), back when I was an audio hardware reviewer, I did indeed have a range of tracks that I used to test speaker, headphone and DAC response.

   As you'd expect, it's full of melodic death metal, drum & bass, and bombastic orchestral works (shoutout to my man Gustav Holst). But also:

     Another #TuneTuesday #SongsToTestSpeakers from my old work test directory.

     To be fair, a lot of the tracks were just "things I'm familiar enough with to hear changes in", but this one really does make the most of a great audio setup (the percussion! the mellotron! the everything!).

     Random trivia facts:

     • Brett Gurewitz's Epitaph Records is named after this track (you'll find a number of King Crimson references in Bad Religion's work).

     • King Crimson guitarist and certified enigmatic genius Robert Fripp and his partner Toyah Wilcox started doing weekly living room covers during lockdown, and they're both wacky and endearing.
