Remember, gold only became legally traded in an ETF back in 2004. And it didn't help people weather 2008. In fact, gold dropped in 2008 because holders had to liquidate their positions to cover- kaia likes this.

@fcktheworld587 @anemone @arcana @shibao @sun but anything that is not the dollar itself or another sovereign currency is inversely correlated to the dollar. That is the result of things being priced in dollars and the petrodollar being the world reserve currency.
Buy a real estate? Dollar goes to shit? WOW your house is worth a ton more now!
AAPL is up 4000% since 2008
Ford since 2008? 500%
Gold is keeping up with inflation, but it's not a great investment IMO.lainy likes this. -
