     @kaia @icedquinn @lain dunno neuro linguistic programming is pretty evil, i don't even care how "smart and successful" they may appear. ceos and news presenters are top of that list. if operating your business requires nlp then its probably a unethical business.

     @frogzone @kaia @lain the real solution is to identify why low performers are performing like garbage and move them to a facility that can accommodate those special needs.
     
     for some of the people like david goggins it was because he had severe learning disabilities and needed tutoring :blobcatshrug2:

     @cell @kaia @lain for some universities you get dinged for being Asian unless you add extracurricular stuff that is "unusual" for Asian. So for instance, if you play Lacrosse, that's good, if you play violin, that's bad. The rationale is that Asians are far overrepresented because they do so well academically.
     
     Asian parents have been angrily protesting for a few years now because of discrimination in ivy leagues admission and it's a factor in talks to remove affirmative action there. Asians do well academically so they get dinged for not being "well rounded". If you read about how Jews were historically discriminated against by ivy leagues, the arguments are close to identical.

     you’re replacing SAT prep courses with organizations which cater towards inflating the sense of a “well-rounded” person; i think i was just reading about fake charities whose sole purpose are to give rich kids activities for something to write about in their uni entrance essays

     I was reading up about Vivek Ramaswamy. Anti-woke Indian immigrants are a thing, because it reflects perfectly their own grievances about caste-based quotas and socialist redistribution in their own country.
     
     India's constitution explicitly said it is a socialist country, when it was written.
