     @feditips thanks for the tip. Another question, roughly how many seconds of video can I upload. On twitter it's capped at two minutes twenty seconds - does Mastodon have an equivalent cap?

     The only cap is file size, so in theory it can be any length as long as the quality is low enough to fit within the limit.

     The limit is 40 megabytes by default, but I think servers can change that if they want?

     @MrEFinch @feditips @stux Mastodon has a public API where you can check their maximum size. https://mstdn.social/api/v1/instance

     Can you see the video_size_limit and the supported formats enumerated?

     Sorry to hear :/

     I think that's just due to the sheer load of new people right now. I saw the admin of your server (https://mastodon.social) saying they've ordered upgraded hardware so it should get better when that is set up.

     Are you able to post them on a website somewhere?

     My website is licensed under CC-By-SA so if someone wants to do their own version of it using the same licence that's totally fine.

     I try to post the French translation of the Tips that pass by but I systematically exceed the 500 characters allowed for a post on the instance where I am.
     It's a pain :(
