@LouisConde and this goes for almost every product.
Some years ago I started paying way more attention to this shit, and it's insanely hard to find even mayonnaise that is, you know, made of mayonnaise.
I mean, what are the ingredients for mayo? Eggs, oil, some acid (either lemon juice or vinegar). Salt, maybe some spices for a bit of flavor. OK, since it's a factory made product that needs to have a somewhat longer shelf life than a handmade mayo at home, you can throw some stabilizants and conservants in it, but that's it.
Except it was almost impossible to find one with these ingredients, because 90% of the brands throw in starch as the main ingredient to cheaply add volume. I found only one brand that has only the required ingredients. The same with ketchup and mustard, they add starch to all.of them.

@Suzu @LouisConde That's disgusting. Modified food starch is a stabilizer, but it's going to be later on in the ingredients like guar gum or xanthum gum.

@Suzu @LouisConde western mayo is unusable. Either make it yourself fresh, which is less trouble than it sounds, or upgrade to jap kewpie mayo. Much richer than western style though so you gotta use it a little differently

@Paultron @Suzu @LouisConde I'll have to check that out, thanks friend. We started using Duke's Mayonnaise a few years back, and it's really good but I'd like to get fully off the sneed oils.

@givenup @nobullyplz @Suzu @LouisConde Just keep a stick of butter on the counter. As soon as it's down to 1/4, put another one there.
