   On the web app/browser (not sure about other platforms, you can comment to confirm/deny :D), if you type a word into the search bar, it'll show you relevant hashtag results as well as how many times they're used. Also, when you start typing a # tag into the box where you're writing your toot, it'll pop up some suggestions and also show how often they've been used.

   This is good for finding out what the most commonly used hashtags are here ^.^

     @Curator Quick not about this:

     Capitals in hashtags help people who use text-to-speech with Mastodon because the TTS can see the words and pronounce them better (and capitals also make reading hashtags easier for humans too).

     Think '#youcaneasilyseethewords' vs '#YouCanEasilySeeTheWords'.

     But... The web interface's hashtag autocompleter removes the capitals even on hashtags it knows about!

     So do make sure you keep these capitals in / put them back in!

     @Curator @herzleid To be exact, as I had not described the UI issue correctly:

     The hashtag autocomplete feature will show both lowercase and CamelCase hashtags and if you select a CamelCase tag it will respect its case.

     But if you typed a hashtag lowercase, even when the only match is CamelCase, the autocomplete won't fix the case and will leave your lowercase typing in place.

     @aaribaud @Curator I think that might be different on different instances? I always type CamelCase but I only get offered the lowercase hashtag as autocomplete. ?

     @aaribaud (I'm disconnecting Pixie from here on, she probably has her hands full with plenty more pressing things.)

     I'm on weirder.earth and here I get the camel case suggestion for a split second, before all suggestions turn to lowercase. I can't even screenshot it because it happens in just a blink. Regardless how I type, e.g. "CatsOfMastodon", I only get the lowercase suggestion.
