   A theme I often see in written smut is someone inserting an unwisely big dildo/penis up their chuff, and getting off from the pain. Is that an actual commonplace thing or just a fantasy trope (or just bad writing)? It only makes me think 'yeowch, oh nooo, no thanks, minge cringe'.

   I have a retroverted uterus, which means my mutton tube is tilted funny and makes PIV painful in general. Maybe that affects my perception of this trope.

     Mostly a fantasy trope, I think?

     I mean, I like pain as a whole thing, and have been given the responsibility of delivering to a reasonable number of other people, and the overwhelming consensus seems to be that actual vaginal pain is more distractingly uncomfortable than fun.

     Like, people enjoy working up to things that they feel should be impossibly huge, but the whole trick to doing that (I have found) is to graduate the experience so that it doesn't actually hurt at the time.

     Yeah, that makes sense, actually, but I think there's also a specific flavour of fantasy that's associated with delivering, receiving or witnessing very extreme bodily abuse in a sexual context that is definitely more psychological than physical.

     Ramming something giant and unlubricated up wherever with zero notice makes sense as a rough sex/quasi-non-con scenario, but doesn't map well to reality for most people.

     Similarly, there's also smut that makes much of banging on or opening the cervix and neither of those are particularly fun for most people, particularly when done in the way described in said smut.

     (My overwhelming feeling on that is informed by my cervical smears = fine but still not recreationally entertaining, whatever the fuck happened when I gave birth, definitely not. Although I suppose there's a certain peace to be found in the "death would be better than this" sensation. 😶)

     @HauntedOwlbear I thought it might be something like your second paragraph, with the phrasing of 'pain' being used as lazy shorthand. (Maybe it further spreads because people who don't do PIV take it at face value and parrot it?)
