   @eniko @glenatron the education ministry here now appears to penalise schools if kids take more than a day or two off in a row without a doctor's note (this is a medical desert), which leads to school directors threatening parents who keep sick kids home.

   I really hoped we'd start collectively taking infection vectors seriously at one point, but no.

     @eniko It's insane - my parents both caught it this week and although it hasn't hit them super hard so far that leaves a situation where almost nobody I know personally has avoided it. Kids and people with kids had no chance.

     I can only characterise the longer-term national level responses as evil. There's no leeway for them to plead ignorance by this point, or even when the decisions were made.

     just really cannot deal with the fact that people are like "wow this airborne vascular disease that's as contagious as measles, greatly increases your risk of potentially fatal cardiovascular events, gives you permanent brain damage, and harms your immune system sounds just like the common cold!"
