Watching this guy (the assistant chief of the NYPD) accidentally pepper spray himself is only topped by his fellow cops trying to wash oil-based pepper spray off with water…on his forehead. Straight into his eyes.

Pffft "Oi, you got a loicense for that?"

And apparently protests aren't supposed to block roads?

@lanodan @Zeb_Larson civil disobedience is by definition illegal, you're betting if they try to punish you people will be outraged enough to accept change.

@sun @Zeb_Larson True but protests shouldn't all be civil disobedience, at least in a democracy.

@lanodan @Zeb_Larson I agree on the audio amplification thing but not on the road thing. blocking the road is always illegal. people can get over being slightly annoyed by elevated noise

@sun @Zeb_Larson A mere march will occupy the road, those are legal in "land of the free", right?

@lanodan @Zeb_Larson blocking the road for arbitrary reasons is illegal, and should be. if you choose to block the road to make a political point, you can do that but accept the consequences are part of your protest bid.

@lanodan @Zeb_Larson I want to clarify that punishment for breaking the law should be proportional, and frequently in the USA, depending on what you're protesting, the punishment is only trotted out if they really want you to shut up.
