UN human rights experts horrified: Seven mass graves found in northern Gaza with 520 Palestinian bodies. Some beheaded, some showing signs of torture.

The Israeli government can scream "anti-semitism" as much as they want — The International Criminal Court is coming for Benjamin Netanyahu, and the world will never forget what his government did.

    Never again.

@randahl You are forgetting that Hamas ruled over Gaza & mass graves are a common occurrence amongst terrorist groups who rule over territory.

Israel 🇮🇱 is being watched by the world, & “if” Israel 🇮🇱 intended to conduct war crimes, I doubt they would leave any evidence in Gaza for others to discover.

This needs to be investigated, & we should await to hear the results.

@FrankFrank @randahl That is true. Have soldiers in modernized/western militaries engaged in war crimes before‽ Yes. But usually they try to destroy the evidence (via fire), not bury bodies in the ground where animals & living humans can find them.

👉🏾 Marines investigate photos from Iraq that reportedly show troops burning bodies https://www.cnn.com/2014/01/15/us/iraq-war-photos/index.html

Either way, an investigation is needed after discovering these mass graves.

The story as you suggest needs the Who, What, Where, When, and Why.

Many stories are written with incomplete information, but are penned with biased pointed fingers at the outset.

The Hamas GoPro's chronicle such actions and behaviors that match up with these discoveries.

It's popular Journalistic malpractice. Allege a claim through innuendo.

@Mogleg @randahl Your words reveal your bias, so let me state a few facts:

☝🏾 Israelis are indigenous to the area, & have lived there for thousands of years & had dealings with ancient Egypt 🇪🇬 & Ethiopia 🇪🇹

✌🏾 Israel 🇮🇱 is responding to attacks on October 7th by a genocidal terrorist group known as Hamas, who also doubles as the government of Gaza

🤟🏾 Citizens from western nations are still being held hostage by Hamas (assuming they are still alive)

The genocidal actions of the apartheid settler colonial state of Israel is being watched by the world. And the world goes “meh, brown people don’t matter”.

They are broadcasting their atrocities for everyone to see and the strongest response is mild finger wagging and someone going “tut tut” before continuing running interference for their mass murder.

They don’t care because the west has given them 75 years of free pass. Why stop now?

@darnell @randahl Here is another idiotic take. Blame everything on Hamas. Next they will blame the climate consequences of this 'war' on Hamas, and should a asteroid impact the region it will once again be Hamas' fault.

@ZillaMon @randahl It’s called reality. Hamas is a genocidal terrorist group, no different from Islamic State or Al Qaeda. They started this recent conflict & since they are also the government of Gaza, their attack was an act of war.

Any other nation would respond the same way. That is reality.

@clintruin @randahl That article is from March. This is May. The stats appear to be revised without an explanation from the UN.

I am also seeing more media reports of the reduction of stats, but the UN declined to explain why they reduced their numbers.

@Extra_Special_Carbon @randahl Hamas is a genocidal, theocratic terrorist organization who needs to be destroyed. After they are removed as a threat, Israelis will be able to remove Bibi from political power due to corruption charges (unrelated to this conflict).

Most governments are dealing with existential threats to invest anything beyond sound bites regarding the conflict. I do believe the November 5th election in America 🇺🇸 will determine what happens in Gaza.

@darnell @randahl I appreciate that this is not cut and dry. I’m nevertheless very skeptical of Israel because of what is blatantly true on the West Bank. They can blame Arafat and Abbas all they want, but Israel is doing this, not the PLO.

But in Gaza, it’s not clear. Hamas is a very bad actor. They are maximizing civilian casualties. I suspect both sides are. We’ve heard what right wing Israeli government officials say. There is no compassion.

@darnell @Extra_Special_Carbon @randahl Israel is a genocidal, theocratic terrorist organization. It is being run by a right-wing dictator. They kidnap and torture the children of dissidents into making false confessions against their parents. They routinely use sexual violence and mass murder to further their agenda. Netanyahu is a nazi, and he may eventually be removed, but the vast majority of the Israeli government are as bad or worse.

@darnell While I agree, Netanyahu is not a Nazi, I think your way of communicating is not much better, when you call others "Hamas sympathizers".

You have no grounds for concluding that being against Netanyahu is the same as being pro Hamas.

@randahl I agree you can oppose Netanyahu without being a Hamas sympathizer.

I did overreact as I have been dealing with numerous pro-Hamas accounts on Threads & Mastodon calling Israel 🇮🇱 or Benjamin Netanyahu Nazis.

Threads to their credit have been removing those accounts, as well as various Mastodon admins.
