Before Katrina diesel used to be cheaper than regular but it became more expensive than premium after Katrina. The reason given was that it was in higher demand due to moving supplies and running generators.
However, it never went back down. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right?
The sad thing is most people don't even remember it being cheaper and the ones who do have no idea when the switch happened or what caused it but I watched it in real time and thought it was odd.
Despite me asking my dad (boomer) about it several times for like a year afterwards he doesn't remember it ever happening.
Is lead poisoning how the Jews keep getting away with so much?

@j I remember. I still look at gas station signs expecting it to be lower. The fact that it's higher is one of my daily reminders that the system is broken.

@j People just have shitty memories about such things. I remember when diesel cars were being pushed as a solution to the gas crisis, then the EPA shut it down hard with selective enforcement (German cars had good diesel technology, so American car companies wanted to cut out a competitor). I also remember hydrogen fuel cells being pushed, and while I still think they're a bit stupid, they're far better than the battery electric cars we have now.
