@emilygorcenski only caveat is you may need to send the request by fax

@emilygorcenski Did something happen that made this a current topic or is this just general advice?

@emilygorcenski Is an SO contribution necessarily “personal data”?

@emilygorcenski GDPR doesn't apply to technical answers.

@emilygorcenski yes, which is not technical reply data. So actually trying to abuse GDPR for this purpose will mean it removes any attribution to the original technical answer. This means the technical answer remains and there would not even need to be attribution.
That rather makes it *more likely* that the technical answer is used for AI, not less likely.

@njsg @emilygorcenski Simply stripping the names from the contributions, if the names are the only PII in most cases.

@emilygorcenski That presents a simple solution for SO I would think.

@ratkins @emilygorcenski What solution other than deleting all contributions too, copyright violation?

@emilygorcenski people seem to be trying to remove the technical answers with these GDPR requests. That will not work.
It actually benefits Stackoverflow because they won't have to track attribution for those answers.
It's abuse in as far as GDPR was never meant to apply to technical content, only personally identifiable data.
