When your gay friends are stripped of their marriages, tell them you didn’t vote because you wanted to make a statement about Gaza.

Not voting helps Trump win. He's already said he intends to block migration from Muslim companies and deport migrants including Muslims. His son-in-law wants to bulldoze Palestine to build waterfront properties. So yeah, that'll do Palestine a lot of good.

Paul Cantrell repeated this. -

Most have no idea how bad it was before for LGBTQ people or how hard we had to organize and fight for our rights. A whole generation was sacrificed to AIDS due to intolerance. They are either incredibly dumb or not allies. Thanks for speaking up. Devastating to see people throw away my human rights only to make life worse for those they claim to fight for -

A number of them absolutely think that gay rights are 'not going away' and this is all just 'silly stuff'. A lot of times they also think that 'Well nobody would ever actually do that'.A law that may be enforced against someone for being gay (or trans, or...) is still a weapon, even if it's 'rarely' utilized.
I remember when the whole 'homosexual behavior' case in the 90s sprang up. People assumed it was 'fake' or 'sensational', while they were in jail.
