OK, so you know how for gasoline cars, you’re supposed to get an oil change once every three months or 3000 miles? Well, what if you only drive 4000 miles a year, do you go by the months or the miles or in between?

@Bronwyn Go mostly by miles unless the car literally just sits. Also, check your manual. It usually has pretty good explanation (somewhere, because it's buried) of how long to go. Most cars don't need oil changes every 3000 miles any more. That'll be there for your particular model.

@Bronwyn @serenebabe Almost certainly don't need an oil change yet

@Bronwyn I'd get an oil change every year, is what I'd do. :-)

@kingrat thanks! I drive it at least twice a week, usually 3-4 times but don’t rack up miles.

@Bronwyn 3750 miles (6000 km) or 6 months is what your manual says. Unless you drive in "extreme" conditions like really hot, cold, dusty, etc., you can go longer on time. For miles, I usually scheduled the oil change when I hit the miles, rather than try to get the oil change inn under the mileage.
