     @jeffowski is this due to some skewed whitebalance in our eyes? Would this work as well if the picture is printed or does it need to be self-illuminated?

     @MisterMoo -- If you do not move the center of your vision, that is correct.
     The red will come out more if you refix the center or move the center of your vision around the can.
     It has something to do with the cones in your eyes and how they work.

     @jeffowski white is a combination of red, green, and blue at full intensity. If you eliminate cyan, a combination of blue and green at full intensity, all you have left is red. Technically you can't see cyan, only red, blue, and green, but your brain tells you that it is cyan.
