There is no red in this picture.
Your brain is filling the Red colour.
The picture is made entirely of light blue, black and white.
Zoom in and you'll see.😅😬😎

It is how your brain interprets the signals from your eyes. -

DJGummikuh (djgummikuh@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 02-May-2024 07:01:34 JST DJGummikuh @jeffowski is this due to some skewed whitebalance in our eyes? Would this work as well if the picture is printed or does it need to be self-illuminated?

The red will come out more if you refix the center or move the center of your vision around the can.
It has something to do with the cones in your eyes and how they work. -

Jeffrey (jlm@mastodon.world)'s status on Thursday, 02-May-2024 14:09:25 JST Jeffrey @jeffowski white is a combination of red, green, and blue at full intensity. If you eliminate cyan, a combination of blue and green at full intensity, all you have left is red. Technically you can't see cyan, only red, blue, and green, but your brain tells you that it is cyan.
