@Hyperhidrosis@BowsacNoodle@Shadowman311 oh, I'm not talking about the scams he has shows in these videos you sent. I'm talking about his reviews of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.
Samsung also gives you big updates, phone trade in (I was able to get a huge discount by giving them my shitty old Galaxy S21) and a good ecosystem. But he still complained that the phone "barely changed" from the last generation, because the screen size and the cameras are the same, and the only things that changed were... the glass quality, the hinge technology, the screen brightness, the processor and the storage.
He's a bit of an iPhone fanboy, tho. The same complaints he had in that phone review are stuff Apple has been doing for years with the iPhone, but he never complained about those.
@BowsacNoodle@Shadowman311 as some guy said in the video coments, "Marques is in his 'calling shitty tech out' era", and I think it's something that ends up coming naturally to any serious tech reviewer who's not a piece of shit bugman redditor who sucks these companies cocks, like Linus does, for instance.
And well, he's reviewing a trendy category of products that are basically scams, so I can't blame him for titling his videos like this:
@Hyperhidrosis@Suzu@Shadowman311@hakui Actual GPS used to be good and then became crappy when they started cheaping out on the chips and tryingto go thin. IDK maybe it's better now, but you could always use one of the open source GPS and keep your phone as a PDA. I do think they need to offer a removal battery option because right now my phone would require a few weeks downtime for a battery swap. It's insane.
@Hyperhidrosis@Suzu@Shadowman311 Hardware updates from every major player have been incredibly lackluster for like a decade. LTE to 5G was okay, but battery life took a beating. We're at some kind of plateau right now and it's probably not going to change until someone puts something seriously innovative out there and takes risks. IMO an actual camera would be the way to go. Somebody like Sony who makes cameras and phones could pull it off, but they've been making overpriced turds for devices for over a decade and don't seem to care.
It's like the old days (2016) carrying around two phone batteries and switching them out for instant 100%
Phone manufacturer are retarded they could sell extra battery as an accessory without having to increase to 6 girillian mah while shrinking physically in size.
@Hyperhidrosis@Suzu@Shadowman311@hakui >Phone manufacturer are retarded they could sell extra battery as an accessory They want control over it. it's like car dealerships making money off service. It's like $70 for me to get a new battery installed by them.
@Hyperhidrosis@BowsacNoodle@Shadowman311@hakui well, why would they sell you an extra battery if they can just charge you through the nose to replace your non user serviceable battery? It's the same reason they don't offer you memory card support anymore (and Apple pioneered this): so they can charge you 300 bucks extra to give you 256gb of storage instead of 128gb.
@Suzu@Shadowman311@Hyperhidrosis@hakui Yeah apple can ESAD for that one. At least now they can KIND OF have an out by saying it's for waterproofing the device. Even SIM cards are integrated now.
