     @AnnaAnthro phew you watched both! Not many will have this dedication. I am a little glad U share my opinion haha. I liked operation Guzheng in the Tencent version for some reason. It was just way more horrifying, cos we weren't given an idea what will happen until the very last moment and then they show it in such a subtle scary way. And then the real meaning of bugs towards the end

     @AnnaAnthro also maybe a dash of despair about the ability of humans to save themselves. You are totally right that Ye Wenjie is central to the story, so their oversimplification of her character was ... Sigh. And they made her sleep with Evans and the other guy omg

     @liztai I also thought the back story of FL work at the antenna station was core to the whole story and was well done in Tencent version. She wasn’t ‘just’ a vengeful daughter but a researcher that found some respect, respite & freedom there. She had supporters. Her answer to the Aliens was not so much spite but… curiosity?
