@Exellent As far as I know the Trigorilla 0.0.2 doesn't support different operation modes for drivers, at least that's what I read online. So I did as I read and simply put them in, dialed in the correct voltage, switched the dir_pin in the config and that's it.
I ordered these. https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005004582711693.html I only read later about quality issues and that there indeed are different kinds of 2209 drivers out there. So I expect this to be the cause; pretty frustrated right now, I hate my lack of exp.
@Natanox I'm sorry to hear that. Can you get some pictures of the driver's? And have you connected them via uart /SPI? Bad drivers will result in not working. But if they work, you might get them to smooth silent operation.
@Natanox that's totally related to motor noise. I don't know that particular fork of Marlin. But my advice regarding 3d printer fw. Do it yourself. Not totally from scratch. But like from source Marlin. So you get to know your printer. Your hw and all that stuff what can be configured. And how it affects your printer. That will take a lot of time, but the learning curve is steep. And later on you know your shitt. But I guess that's easy to say for one who spent a couple of 100s of hours doing so.
@Exellent I expected the knutwurst-marlin firmware to already have everything set up in that regard honestly… As fare as I know all that stuff doesn't have to do anything with the motor noise (which should be constant motor voltage - again something different than what you calibrate with the tiny hardware knob) but print quality.
@Natanox oh that thing 😄. But did u confed Martin to use stealth chop and 32 steps and interpolation? I mean without proper config it doesn't matter if Marlin or Klipper. Then they won't be quiet :). And it's a pain to connect them with uart to that board. Die configuring the driver's in there full potential. But you'll figure that out. I'm sure.
@Exellent Trigorilla 0.0.2 (the one my Mega X came with) + TMC2209 drivers. Right now I'm using the knutwurst-marlin firmware, about to flash Klipper tomorrow as mentioned.
