@EU_Commission It seems as if you are migrating from #Mastodon towards another platform.

      Which #Fediverse option are you considering‽ #WordPress with the #ActivityPub plugin enabled‽

Depending on the host, that would be a less expensive option.

@EU_Commission - I helped to set up displayeurope.social (Mastodon) and displayeurope.video (PeerTube) showcasing European topics in 15 languages (translated at least on the portal page displayeurope.eu). Do not hesitate to get back to @fairkom (or me) if you require professional support for #fediverse #hosting of just for migrating some accounts or video channels.

Good to read that you are committed! I just hope you don't let the current EU Mastodon instance disappear and switch to another generic one. That would be a huge setback for your reliability and recognisability. Besides, old posts don't move with you and all other EU organisations also need to find a new home in the #fediverse. So can you make sure the current EU instance keeps spinning? Seems like a no-brainer although you might have to take some bureaucratic hurdles…

@EU_Commission Hopefully you will do so on one of your own domains. And invite the other EU institutions and agencies to do so too. Having your own domain (rather than using mastodon.social or twitter.com) means we all can be certain that you are who you say you are. Organisations should run their own instances, or use their websites to also share to ActivityPub. My organisation does, my website does. Let the EC lead by example!

@EU_Commission FTR - an account on threads.net is NOT a solution, IMHO. The better solution is to use a minimal part of the money you spend on blockchain projects to keep the instance you are on alive. ;)

@EU_Commission@social.network.europa.eu We are still confused after your previous announcement from here: https://www.edps.europa.eu/press-publications/press-news/press-releases/2024/edps-decentralised-social-media-pilot-end-successful-story_en

Would you be able to share more information soon enough? We appreciate our right to be informed about all things related to EU and not being tracked by big tech. Your previous announcement brought a lot of concerns about your presence on Fediverse and we believe that without your comment soon enough it might be discouraging for more public services considering switching to Fediverse.

Could you please address this soon?

This is a side issue, but when there's a conversation between a human and a media team of humans, it's interesting to at least get some feeling for who might be "hiding" in the team. In the case of @EU_Commission my guess is the people here tagged 'social media':

      https://commission.europa.eu/about-european-commission/contact/press-services/press-contacts/commissions-spokespersons-service_en

are the team behind the @. The profile itself says nothing specific about who manages the messages, how their content is decided (e.g. on an internal wiki, on a cryptpad, or on a git repository).
